WHALE EXPERIENCE

Timor-Leste shares the same reef systems as Indonesia but attracts less than 100,000 visitors a year, providing a refreshing change for tourists. The Ombai-Wetar Strait is the reason for Timor-Leste’s marine riches, with the largest movement of water on the planet, attracting abundant life, including 24 species of dolphins and whales. During the week-long trip, we will spend five days searching for blue and sperm whales and have a chance to encounter other exciting and rare species. Sperm whales, dolphins, pilot whales and melon-headed whales can be encountered in large pods, and we will try to get in the water with them as well. Throughout the trip we will be staying at Hotel Timor in Dili, the capital of Timor.
