Our art trip in Japan will be split into three parts, starting in Tokyo. Here, we’ll attend various exclusive art events and tours, such as the Maezawa Private Collection and Studio Tour, the Watarium Museum of Contemporary Art VIP Tour, and a private tour of Tokyo galleries with the Directors. We’ll also explore the Omotesando fashion and architecture district, featuring stunning buildings by renowned architects such as SANAA and Tadao Ando. Of course, we’ll also get to experience Tokyo’s vibrant nightlife and indulge in delicious local cuisine throughout our stay.
Next, we’ll travel to Naoshima, a serene island in the Seto Inland Sea that’s renowned for its modern art museums, sculptures, and architecture. We’ll have the opportunity to visit several museums, including the Chichu Art Museum and Lee Ufan Museum, designed by the world-famous architect Ando Tadao. We’ll also explore Naoshima’s maze-like art site, designed with stone chambers of varying shapes and sizes. From there, we’ll move on to Kyoto, where we’ll discover the city’s rich cultural heritage through guided visits to temples, heritage sites, and zen gardens. We’ll also have the chance to explore Kyoto’s renowned ceramics galleries and indulge in traditional arts.
For those who are interested, we also offer an optional post-art tour excursion to Kyushu. Here, we’ll embark on a sailing excursion and a road trip through the valleys and uplands of Kyushu. This dynamic landscape is full of energy, and we’ll have plenty of opportunities to relax in hot springs, enjoy local delicacies, and immerse ourselves in the region’s vibrant culture. Optional activities include golfing, hiking, and sake brewery tours.
